Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of Africa's oldest and most biodiverse tropical rainforests, located in southwestern Rwanda. Covering over 1,000 square kilometers, the park is renowned for its pristine rainforest, spectacular mountain scenery, diverse wildlife, and extensive network of hiking trails.
The park is home to 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and owl-faced monkeys. It also boasts more than 300 bird species, over 1,000 plant species, and hundreds of butterfly species, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and nature lovers.
One of Nyungwe's most famous attractions is the Canopy Walkway, a suspended bridge approximately 70 meters (230 feet) above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views of the rainforest canopy and surrounding mountains.
