Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda's most famous national park and one of Africa's premier wildlife destinations. Located in the northwestern part of Rwanda, it forms part of the spectacular Virunga Mountain range, a chain of volcanoes shared by Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Covering approximately 160 km², the park is renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas and breathtaking volcanic landscapes.
